i love the smell of red wine like i love the smell of good coffee...

Like I love the smell of a panadería (bakery) in the morning... actually at any time of the day I love that smell. :)    I also love the chocolate filled pastries here.  Sometimes in the morning, I stop at a pastry shop just before the train station and get breakfast. But in catalan it is called a forn de pa.  (Oven of bread, literally.)  I've shown my face enough times that the woman knows me. We've bonded. I told her I am taking Catalan classes. She told me she's been to NY AND NJ... Atlantic City. heh.  So Obvi I like her.

My order??  Sometimes it's a ham and cheese filled croissant. Sometimes it's a chocolate dipped croissant. Sometimes it's a canya de xocolata (that's a croissant-esk rectangle with chocolate in the middle.) And my favorites are the napolitanos.  The picture below is a napolitano, though from a different bakery. And it was one of the best I've ever had, which is why I just HAD to photograph it. Let me tell you why. The dough was just perfectly crispy yet melt in your mouth worthy. And the chocolate was so smooth. A hint of nutella in it.  YUMMMM.

Please excuse my fatty girl moment.  :)

You can take the fatty girl out of america but you can't take the fatty out of the girl... or something like that. ;)
