a moment for my book about Times in teaching when you just shake your head wondering if anything you've said has been worth it...

a student showed me some information that they printed out for a project. the student assured me that they could understand the info and utilize it, despite the fact that it was in spanish and not in english. OK. I tell the student it's fine. But they will need more sources for the final project. 

i do a double take at the wikipedia source... it's in French.

Sigh. I can't help but wonder if this is a reflection of my teaching... Spanish, French, it's all the same, right?
