words that i wish spanish teachers didn't have to teach:

the word for desk:
el pupitre.  prounounced : poo-PEE-tray  

tell that to a bunch of 10 year olds. i mean, i was expecting the "poopy tray" snickers to come out but i guess the combination of the last period of a day where the morning was spent standardize testing and the period before was spent outside because it was so nice out really set this up nicely to fail...

sigh.  you can't win em all.

plus, my wise boyfriend reminded me that "maybe you just need to accept the fact that it's a funny word..."  this coming from someone who wasn't exactly an angel to all of his teachers growing up... noted.
