The little mailman, Russell, said something that really stuck with me. He's thinking about his life at home versus this grand adventure he's on.
He says, "Sometimes, it's the boring stuff I remember the most."
That's how I feel about Spain. People keep asking me "What's the craziest thing that happened? What's the most exciting memory you have? What was your favorite part? Hardest part? Biggest regret... the list continues." And really, my favorite parts are probably really boring to them. The things I miss the most are not crowd captivating by any means. But it's the little boring things that make my heart feel for those past 3 months in Spain. One time, a friend commented about my blog and how i talked about my daily experiences. He said his prof once said, "...though it's good to dive deep, we need the shallow in our lives. We need the everyday, the real life experiences, the concrete."
I'm so blessed to be back home and enjoying the little things of my life here. the way i can look out my window everyday into the backyard and try and guess how cold it is out there. the way i can just call up my sister. and we're in the same time zone. the clip that's still on my car console.
but here are some of the boring things i loved in spain.
passing thru this area, heading to the train station.
good morning, God!
plaza catalunya. people watching.
double whammy: walking along the beach AND taking fotos.
giving and getting love from fluffy.
walking around with friends, searching for a good crepe, or ice cream, or tapas...
just for starters. maybe my next post will be about the little thing about home... or CHRISTMASSSS!
another reason why you're heroic. you should've seen it when katelin and i were watching up. ridiculous! So tru.. boring stuff is the best :)
