and i said what i needed to say.
i got to class a bit early and took the initiative to sit next to classmates waiting in the hallway rather than stand off alone "checking my phone." they don't know i have no friends to text me. muahaha. anyways, saw the profe from the earlier class in her classroom and after 5 minutes of contemplation, i finally went in and asked her if it would be possible to switch into her period. 12-2pm is just annoying. 10-12 is a MUCH better option. and she said No problem! well, more like no problemo! she handed me her silabus, wrote my name on her roster, and said fins de mar... see ya tomorrow! yay!
and i had my first "english class." i teach an 11 year old boy and work mostly just with conversation. he's so excited to speak in english. i meet him at his school, take the metro back to his apt., we eat merienda (snack!) and ya. that's mostly it. high light of the lesson: teaching him the left/right trick. (Hold out your pointer fingers and thumbs. Which hand makes the "L" shape? That's your left!) OK, the best part was when he did it 15 minutes later in order to tell me which way we'd be walking out of the metro. so grrrrreat!
remember my metro-stop crush? well, he was there today! and just as i rounded the corner, his song ended. TEAR. :-( But, it was PERFECT TIMING! He saw me beaming a mile away. And as I passed I said in plain old english Your music always makes me so happy! Out of habit, he gave me a gracias. Followed by a smirk and a Cool. :D I didn't smile from his music today. Today, it was time to pay. it. forward. ...you know you love my corn-ball-ness!
food highlights:
--freshed squeezed OJ from La Boqueria. I decided that I will treat myself on Wednesdays to it! I found a vendor who sells it for only 1€.
