Today was one of those days. My cousins and I just laughed about so much. This morning, it was realizing I lost my fantasy football match-up last week due to the fact that i played a couple key players... who had byes. Then, it was catching my cousin innocently trying to decide which of the 3 tourism magazines in hand to buy from fnac. It resembled something like a child getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Instead, he exerted much self-discipline. He only bought 2 books and a magazine.
Oh oh oh! And I started classes on Monday for Catalan. I can't help it. I love being a student again. And it's a fun spin on things analyzing how things get taught, being the student and reflecting on how I feel and how I learn and what works and what doesn't. I can't wait to teach! I get all nervous when I have to talk in Catalan when someone is expecting me. But it comes so naturally at other times. And I'm that student who, when the teacher asks if we want a break or to continue, loudly voices my opinion. Pausa. Obvi.
And I met up with an old study abroad friend... and laughed about old memories. And how he translates the easy things for me. This happened often to me... One time, in Valencia, a different friend was speaking in conversation to a couple of us americanas talking about a "volcanico" and turned to me 100% and translates, a volcano! :)
And more laughing and giggling with Elna... we were just being girls. And then, I went running. I'm not sure if this ever happens to anyone else, but I ALWAYS get the urge to hi-FIVE people who are running past me in the opposite direction. Seriously. Maybe it's been prompted by the fact that one time I was running on the LB boardwalk and a man gave me the thumbs up as we ran past each other. It just completely lifted my spirits and it probably shaved a good minute off of my time. Anyways, I was reaaaaaally close to giving hi-fives tonight. Though I don't know how the peeps would take it.
And THEN (no and then!) we watched the Barça futbol (that's soccer!) game, which prompted a status change, which prompted the most ridiculous 23 minute long wall thread that i have ever seen. I knew it would get crazy when a friend insulted BOTH of the supported teams in this apartment. And I was just watching my cousins type. Then refreshing my page. And laughing.
So that was my day full of laughing. This blog is somewhat to keep the peeps at home informed, but it's also for my mems. FOR THE MEMS. I had originally intended on writing tonight to update my readers on what I eat ;) But obviously got side-tracked. But here's a brief summary:
- Coffee. home-brewed.
- Bfast: cereal- Fruites y fibra. ;) with leche semi-desnatada. you know, the milk here doesn't need to be refrigerated because it's pasturized at such high temps! you may think it sounds gross, but i actually love the taste of it. a bit creamier in the taste.
- drank a leche pascual. guilty pleasure here... supposedly it's milk and fruit juice. i dunno. it's tasty. i bought it from the vending machine during pausa. (http://www.lechepascual.es/c02_var.aspx?ID=270130)-subway for lunch. yes, as in the Jared's subway... 5 dolla foot-long. i got a half chicken teriyaki :)
- dinner was tortilla bocadillo. (potato and egg omlette.) fluffy. and on pan. yummmm.
- and some ice cream for dessert.
well, that's all the useless information i feel like sharing tonight.
bona nit ;)
I love Tortilla Bocadillo! p.s. you should try to high-five someone and just see what happens...
