Oh, hello there! I'm watching the Olympics! I'm a bit bummed I can't ski this season. I always rock the moguls best during Olympic season. (yes, I'm aware that's every 4 years...Hence, my sadness.) Anyways, I'm having a lazy Saturday because I can. During the week, I'm tired out by people constantly commenting on my body and just by the daily physical demand it takes to get out of bed and put on my socks, let alone be productive. Since I've last blogged, we've gone to our birthing class. HAH. It was crazy! Yes, I cried when we watched the video on labor and delivery. Yes, Mike threw up a little in his mouth. But we both left feeling thankful for having gone. There's just so much that happens in the body to create a baby and to birth it out (including C-sections!) so while the class was totally overwhelming, it gave me, at least, a good start to process things. Plus, we got to see the hospital Maternity Ward and even got a free lunch from the cafeteria. Score! We practiced labor comfort positions and breathing! Hah! And as awesome as it was to have Mike rubbing my back while I sat on a chair and breathed for 90 seconds, I'm aware that's not how it will actually go on the big day. As my yoga instructor reminded us after a hard position this morning, you have to take labor one step at a time. It's not fun. That's why it's called labor. Thanks. Then she laughed and talked about how much fun we have at class each week. :-) I do agree, though. I'm just trying to absorb as many techniques and advice and experiences to be able to be as well educated for L&D (labor and deliver) so that I can make decisions for me that day/night. Crazy... when will I have this baby? In the AM? in the PM? I DON"T KNOW! What do you think?
How far along? 33 weeks! According to the Baby Bump app, today, I'm at day 234 of my pregnancy.
How do I feel, physically? I feel "pregnant." Like this is the part of pregnancy now women commiserate about. I feel a bit more tired. My back is starting to ache a little bit if I sit for too long. My feet cramp more. My socks leave a little mark now (aka slight swelling?). Heart burn. Aches and pains down below. And the baby wedges his/her feet under my ribs these days. Just dandy.
Maternity clothes? Two words: stretch pants.
Sleep:
Woke up to pee a couple times this week. That's the first time I've done that all pregnancy. I'm trying to make sure I drink a ton of water. Dehydration is one of the top causes of preterm labor.
Best moment this week:
Snow day with my hubs on Monday. Nursery projects. Cookies. And curling up to a movie to end the night.
Miss Anything?
Not right now.
Movement:
Yes! Kicks are getting stronger! Pow! And baby rolls around/ makes rolly motions... maybe moving limbs? It's sooooo strange! I cannot stress this enough!
Food cravings: Chocolate?
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just eating too much makes me sick :(
Labor Signs: I don't know if I'm having Braxton Hicks. I don't think so. I just attribute the movements to baby moving around.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On. Although after salty foods, they do get tight. But again, trying to be OCD about hydrating...
How am I feeling, emotionally?: Nostalgic. And in planning mode. I'm also very emotional. I feel now like I need to make some lists and game plans so that when I have my baby I can just laugh and say hahaha I thought I had it all planned out ;-) Plus, my dog is more cuddly these days. Just look at Walter... he knows his world is changing right before his eyes. Look at him.
Looking forward to:
Walter meeting the newest pack member. Yes, I went there.
