guess which finger has 4 stitches in it?
my new cutco knife got the best of me while i was trying to cut a frozen bagel. lesson learned.
does it hurt? it is much more annoying and inconvenient than painful.
it's pretty difficult or annoying to do the following without my finger at its best:
* ringing out anything- a towel, washcloth, my hair, etc.
* closing the screen on a window
* clapping my hands
* making stuffed peppers
* scratching my arm pit
* putting my hair in a pony tail, braiding it, or washing it
* putting on eyeliner (it's just in the way!)
* washing dishes
* carrying anything
* folding a towel
* zipping up a jacket
* putting on my right earring
the list could go on but i'll spare you.
what has really stood out to me through this whole experience (oh, a total of 6 days thus far) is how much i hate being incovenienced and how much i heart being comfortable. and it's kinda frightening. i mean even while i sit here as my finger is healing (i know it is because it's really getting itchy!) i'm annoyed at that. ever heard that inspirational quote that's all "life is 5% what happens and 95% how you react to it?" i think there's some truth to that... so i'm going to have to try and change my reaction, huh?! i will try to begin to accept inconvenience as just a part of life... or change my viewpoint on what i see as inconvenient...
